How to Clean Quartz Worktops?

Your kitchen, utility area, or bathroom get a bright, modern, light-reflecting main point with the installation of quartz worktops. Quartz Kitchen worktops are incredibly sturdy, resistant to chips, cracks, and scratches, and they don't require sealing, which will save you money over time.

Unlike natural granite, for example, the quartz slabs we offer at Fugen Stone are manufactured. To make an extremely hard, smooth, and non-porous surface that won't harbour bacteria and viruses, about 93% natural quartz is combined with 7% resins, polymers, and pigments throughout the manufacturing process. They are simpler to keep, cleaner, and more heat and stain resistant than granite or marble.

However, how can you keep your Quartz Worktops gleaming and bright? You can't go wrong using our advice to cleaning quartz countertops!

What You Need To Do

A Typical Cleaning Schedule

In the long run, a daily quick wipe down of your Quartz Countertops will significantly cut down on the time and work required to maintain them clean by assisting in the reduction of dust, crumbs, and stains.

Use Mild Detergent Or Soapy Water

Avoid using strong chemicals if you want to keep your Quartz Worktops looking shiny. Simply cleaning the surfaces with warm, soapy water or a moderate, neutral detergent, rinsing with clean water, and polishing them dry will give them the gleam you've come to expect from Quartz Worktops.

Sprays that kill germs and disinfectants

Most of us regularly use antibacterial cleaners or disinfectants to clean our kitchen surfaces. We advise you to use only watered-down disinfectants and a specialised antibacterial quartz worktop cleaner. Verify again that they don't include bleach or acids.

The Best Cloth

Use one non-abrasive microfiber cloth for washing with soapy water and rinsing, and another one to polish the surface dry. Use of sponges with a scrubber side should be avoided as these might eventually produce tiny surface scratches that can harbour bacteria and viruses.

Keep An Eye Out For Scale

Over time, if you maintain a regular cleaning schedule, you can start to see limescale accumulating on your surfaces or in the corners and edges. Use a blunt object, such as a spatula or wooden spoon, to scrape as much limescale off as you can to remove it without using harsh chemical cleansers. Limescale can also be eliminated with the aid of water and vinegar that have been diluted. After removing the limescale, don't forget to properly wash, rinse, and dry the surface.

What You Must Avoid

Avoid Too Much Heat

Quartz Surfaces are durable and heat-resistant to a certain extent, but a pot or pan dropped directly off the stove could harm the surface. To protect the surface, we advise using trivets, supports, or mats. Why take a chance?

Pay Attention To Stains

Our manufacturing technique guarantees that your Quartz Worktops' smooth, non-porous surface will be very effective in resisting stains. However, acidic foods, beverages, chemicals, and foods with a high colour pigment, such berries and beets, can stain if they are not immediately washed off. It should work with some warm, soapy water, a fast rinse, and drying.

Don't use bleach

Keep things simple with Quartz, as tempting as it can be to bleach your countertops or use one of the many chemical cleaners on the market may be. With soapy water, mild neutral detergent, dilute disinfectant, or a quartz worktop antibacterial cleaner, you really can't go wrong. Your Quartz Worktops' surface will ultimately lose its lustre if you employ acidic or bleach-containing substances.

Don't use abrasive cleaners

There aren't many cleaning products on the market that have tiny abrasive grains in them to help in cleaning surfaces. It is advised to stay away from using these cleaners on your quartz surfaces because they can eventually degrade the lustre and leave behind tiny microorganisms that can cause surface scratches.

Don't Use Sharp Utensils

While you can directly prepare meals on your Quartz Worktops, it's better to limit your preparations to things like baking and dough-kneading. Without the use of a cutting board, you should probably avoid doing anything that requires the use of a sharp object, like cutting. Although the surface of your Quartz is fairly resistant to scratches, you might not be able to avoid doing so if you have particularly sharp cutlery, for example.

Without a question, Quartz worktops & Countertops are beautiful and may innately enhance the appearance of any home, converting it into a light and modern place. To view some of our prior installations and get inspired for your quartz countertop, click here.

  1. I'd like to add some things I've learned from visiting this Caesarstone post: quartz countertops are engineered with resins and pigments that result in a shiny surface. To maintain it, a regular cleaning with the use of mild soap, water, and a soft cloth is all it needs. If by some unfortunate accident, the counter loses its shine and regular maintenance isn't helping, you can always contact the manufacturer.
